What do George Fox's more than 400 letters mean?

                                                                              Almighty, Creator, Disposer, Dread and Terror, Eternal, Life, Light, Living Food, Love, Governor, great Lord, Lord of Hosts, Judge, Omnipotent, One, Orderer, Power, Providence, Pure Spirit, Ruler, Sanctuary, Safety, Truth Wisdom, eXalted. Fox calls God by many names but   GOD IS ONE For Fox, God is One.  He addresses God with many names –  Light, Lord of hosts, Pure, Living God, Eternal, Exalted, Lord God Almighty, Creator, Power, Wisdom – but he is One. These names are not a list of His attributes; these are God.  Holy, Hallowed, Glorious, Wondrous    These are some of the names that show the resplendent and awe inspiring nature of God.

Why, with all the letters the world, should we have such confidence in George Fox’s.  We can have confidence because he was such a remarkable person.  REMARKABLE GEORGE FOX: NO MAN’S COPY William Penn said of George Fox, the human founder of the Quaker faith, that he is “no man’s copy.”  He is unique, a religious genius. The crown of Fox’s experience is his knowledge and passionate love of God and Christ the Light and his ability to share this with others. WHAT MAKES HIM SO REMARKABLE He is an orthodox Christian whose faith is anchored in the Bible. A genuine mystic. He believed that he is specially chosen and loved by God ; he also believed that everyone else is too.  A Universalist He is consistent and never takes the easy path.  He knew that there is terrible evil in the world.  He did everything that he could to protect Friends.   He had real clarity on what is right and wrong.                    GEORGE FOX HAS A MYSTICAL                               VISION OF GOD In the year 1643 God sent forth George Fox, an innocent lamb, young in years, to “turn people from darkness to the Light.”      The crown of Fox’s religious experience is his mystical knowledge and passionate love of God and his ability to communicate this to others. He writes of this experience beautifully in his pastoral letters, showing that it is possible to know and love God.  God is accessible to everyone for He pours out His Spirit on all men and women.  The really remarkable thing about Fox is that he doesn’t say that there is only one way to get to know God, or that his way is the best.
